Hello there,
I just installed Ubuntu 9.04 and wanted to get epsxe to work. According to AppDB on winehq.org epsxe 1.7.0 should work flawlessly. Sadly I couldn't get "Pete's OpenGL2 PSX GPU Version 2.9" working.
Sound works, even graphics as FPS counter shows FPS but the screen is black. I tried going back in versions and OGL2 PSX GPU version 2.4 works without problems. So 2.5 and up give me a black screen no matter the settings (fast or nice, fullscreen or windowed)
I have tried older wine versions as well but still it is the same.
I have Nvidia 8800 GTS 512 MB with 180.44 drivers. E8400 Core 2 Duo and 4 Gig of RAM. Using Ubuntu 9.04 386 version.
Would love to use the latest plugin as it is noticeably better at least in my opinion. If you need any more info I would be happy to help you in any way!
And here is the wine log after running epsxe:

First of all, bug report on a program running on an emulator instead of real environment it is intended for can not be accepted - it can be very well a wine bug.
Second, why don't you just use linux versions of epsxe and plugins instead of such strange setup?

Not being a smartass but wine is not an emulator. I understand your point, but I'm having troubles configuring my controller in native Linux epsxe version, so I tried Windows one through wine and it works noticeably better.
No worries, thank you for your time!

wine is an emulator, the developers are just a bunch of cocky pricks like the mame fags.
