I know I asked this already but I just can't get shaders to work under linux. Where should I place shader files? My card is GeForce 8800 GTX so it supports all shaders for sure.

Make a "shaders" and a "Shaders" folder in the same dir that inhabits the emulator executable file that you are running to emulate the PSX.

Copy the "gpuPeteOGL2.slf" and "gpuPeteOGL2.slv" files in both of the folders ("gpuPeteOGL2.fp" and "gpuPeteOGL2.vp" for ARB shaders).

I also have a similar problem but... more weird :S
I have tried a lot things I have read at this forum but without any luck

The problem is that I can't use any of the "2xgl,4xgl" shaders, I mean, some shaders like the "Rotate shader" or the "black and white" work flawlessly but none of the "Smoothing shaders" seem to work for me.

I tried eliminating "blanks" in shaders code, making those 2 folders, forcing a folder in the config...

My system:
Ubuntu Feisty Fawn, 9755 Nvidia Drivers, GeForce 6800Gs.

Any help would be apreciated

P.D. I just discovered something new ->

Which shader gave that error? Do you have the latest shaderpack? (2.2)

Ups, I didn't notice there was a newer version of the shader pack.
Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try and then post again

Still no luck, I have tried some of the 2.2pack shaders but Im still getting those compile errors... maybe the Nvidia drivers is wrong? :S

It's a linux or a nVidia linux GLSL compiler bug...someone might report it.

Otherwise:

yoshi314 schrieb

    edit2: works. most shader files need to have a final empty line, no blank lines in the middle, and main(){ has to be changed into

    main()
    {

Indeed, its a bug, but I have finally managed to run your nice shaders.

What I have found is that the "shader-compiler" in the driver is not "local-aware" so it generates errors with "dots" and "comas" and as I live in Spain...

Full explanation here
Thanks you for your support guys ^_^
Solution->

Code:
1:

export LC_NUMERIC=C

Did everything like you said, Guest, and it didn't work. Even wrote shader directory to GLX 2.8 config file - still nothing.
