Im ernst, freue mich schon auf das neue Album.

Habt ihr schon gelesen, Carla Bruni Sarkozy musiziert am 16. September mit Metallica bei der britischen BBC2-Musikfernsehshow Later with Jools Holland.

Jetzt ist mir einiges klar, man hat Death Magnetic nur gemacht um mit Carla auf Tuchfühlung zu gehen.

Ich nehme alles zurück, für die Inspiration zur Rückbesinnung auf ihre Wurzeln ist natürlich Rick Rubin verantwortlich gewesen der schon den Sound von Slayer auffrisiert hat. Er wischt den Müll der sich angesammelt hat weg und bringt die Essenz von Metallica wieder zum Vorschein. Sie klingen wieder wie einst in den 80er Jahren.

Nach fünf Durchgängen:

DEATH MAGNETIC, ein Wiedersehen mit alten Bekannten. Das Motto lautet, zurück zu den eigentlichen Wurzeln, man hatte ja Angst sich zu wiederholen oder stecken zu bleiben. Zum Glück aller Metallica-Fans haben sie nicht Bob Rock sondern den Rauschebart-Rick-Rubin als Producer genommen. Ohne den Def Jam Records-Gründer würde das Album definitiv anders (schlechter) klingen. Sie sind immer noch ein Monster, riesig, böse und wieder laut, weiter so, Jungs!

Ein paar beinharte Fakten um Eindruck zu schinden:

2 Livealben
2 EPs
21 Musikvideos für 31 Singles
100 Millionen verkaufter Tonträger,
darunter das „schwarze Album“ von 19991 mit alleine 22 Milionen

Ich muss anerkennend sagen: Ein sehr gutes Album, aber sicher kein Meilenstein wie Master Of Puppets.
Live sind Metallica sowieso der absolute Hit.
