die Plattenkritik fällt bei mir i.d.R. Positiv aus, wenn ich was poste.
So auch diesmal wieder.

Bio:
Major Harris is a talented singer who has been a part of many notable vocal groups, but who is mostly known for one of the most popular songs ever to come out of Philadelphia, the seminal ballad "Love Won't Let Me Wait."

The cousin of famous Philly producer/guitarist and Trammps co-founder Norman Harris, Major Harris performed in Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers after their commercial peak but made his first real mark as a member of the Delfonics, where he stayed a couple years in the early 70s before leaving to embark upon a solo career.


Signed by Atlantic Records, he brought together a group of newly liberated Philly musicians branching out from the Gamble & Huff cabal, including members of MFSB and guitarist Bobbi Eli, for his 1975 album My Way. The Eli composition, "Love Won't Let Me Wait," was an instant smash, a nearly irresistible combination of all that was good about Philadelphia music of the 70s: Lush orchestration, a great band and a killer hook. It shot to the top of the Pop and Soul charts and became the highlight of Harris's career. He scored a modest hit the following year with the single "I Got Over Love" and the album Jealousy, but never again achieved major success as a solo artist. By the time he moved to RCA in 1978 for How Do You Take Your Love, he was no longer a force in Soul Music.

Harris rejoined the Delfonics several times over the next two decades, most recently appearing with the group on 1999's Forever New.

sehr gut instrumentiert, klasse boogie tracks, midtempos und mellow grooves dabei.
Nur auf Streetwave UK erschienen, aber ein muss für den Soulie und Funky collector.

preis so ca. ab 20.00 GBP oder 30 USD, was darunter ist auf jedenfall holen, da dies schon als schnäppchen gilt.

Ich habe die LP selbst nicht. Vielleicht steht ja im Incover der text ?? Im Netz habe ich nichts finden können.

danke für die Antwort. Ich hab die Platte (My Way) da ist leider nichts drin. Es scheint wirklich schwer zu sein, den Text zu diesem wirklich schönen Song zu finden. Hoffen wir weiter.

Ciao,

vielen vielen Dank für die Übersetzung. Du hast keine Ahnung wie lange und wie oft ich dieses wunderbares Lied gehört habe, ohne annähernd auf deinen text zu kommen. Noch mal vielen Dank. Warum dieses Lied ?
Es gibt einfach Energie. Ich höre es am Liebsten morgens.
Selber raushören ? Machst du Witze ? Ich bin italiener und an einer Sprache gewöhnt, die zu 99% gesprochen wie geschrieben wird. Wenn ich das Lied raushöre kann ich schon versuchen es aufzuschreiben, sicher, ... but you can guess the rest....

Ich wollte Dich nur animieren mitzumachen.

Es freut mich aber, daß Dir die Übersetzung zusagt.

Es scheint tatsächlich so, als ob sie im I-Net noch

nicht verfügbar ist.
