Hi Aamir,

I hope you will get to read my post. I woke up this morning and logged into Bollywood Hungama and I could not believe the content of the article posted on that website so I checked your blog for confirmation.

I have been a life long fan of yours and I have always respected you as an actor par excellence and as an intellectual. I have looked up to you for most of my life and your movies have entertained us for decades. I strongly supported you during the Narmada dam controversy and a number of other controversies.

I was truly shocked to read your comments and I am very disappointed. I am not a huge admirer of SRK's acting abilities but he is by far the most charismatic and most popular star representing the east. He has earned the respect of millions of people. The comments you have posted on your blog are extremely offensive to all fans of the Indian cinema and not just SRK and his fans.

I think that you should have considered the cultural sensitivities that surround those comments. There are certain rules that need be followed and certain lines that are not to be crossed when addressing your competitors and adversaries in public.

You might notice that this is my first post on your website and I rarely comment on such issues but those outrageous comments are extremely hard to ignore. According to media reports, SRK's wife and his children are big fans of your work and I would like to know how you would face them after making those comments that are usually attributed to unsavory individuals.

I am sure you are aware of the backlash Michael Richards faced following his racist rant and I am not comparing your comments to his racist remarks, but he made it very difficult for a lot of Seinfeld fans including myself to enjoy that show after that ugly episode. I am sure that you are aware that SRK and you possibly share millions of fans and I hope you will understand that those comments were extremely offensive to a lot of people. I believe that you should immediately apologize to SRK and all fans of Indian Cinema for those appalling comments. I want to be able to respect one of my favorite actors once again.

SRK's 'not ruffled' over Aamir's blogpost

Bollywood blogs seems to top the list of controversies with Aamir's Khan latest entry raising eyebrows for naming his pet dog 'Shahrukh.' But Shah Rukh Khan [Images] replied that he is not ruffled, and that he is taking it in the right spirit.

After Amitabh Bachchan's blog created a controversy with his remarks against Shatrughan Sinha, Aamir's new blogpost talks about his pet dog 'Shahrukh' at his home in Panchgani. Aamir, who is recuperating from a hamstring injury suffered on the sets of Ghajini, said he has nothing to do with the naming of the dog.

'Shahrukh is the dog of the caretakers of our house,' he wrote. 'When I bought this house it came with the caretakers.'

When his reaction was sought to Aamir's blog, King Khan [Images] said that he was not bothered about it. "I have never bothered about it because I also say a lot of things in fun and I think I also may be stressing somebody else out. I don't get stressed when friends pass comments like this. Actually, I enjoyed it," Shah Rukh said.

This is not the first time that Aamir has taken a shot at SRK [Images]. A few months back, he had said at an event, "I would like to ask Shah Rukh how it feels to be number two."

Aamir: you disappoint us!

Tongue-in-cheek war of words and leg pulling is nothing new for Bollywood. That is part 'n' parcel of this sham glamour industry. Many bigwig luminaries have tasted the sourness of witty comments. You might not even bother for an ounce, when it is obvious to hear such comments from our well known celebs. But when your ears come across such comments from a celeb whom people look upon, whom people respect and believe in his deeds than it really becomes hard to gulp the fact.

Recently Aamir opened up about Shahrukh on his blog. Aamir put a mischievous note on his blog saying he loved it when Shahrukh licked his feet! He fed him some biscuits too. Apparently 'Shahrukh' is the name of of Aamir's home caretaker's 'dog' in Panchgani, where he is on resting and relaxing with his family, as he was injured few days back on the sets of GHAJINI. He also teasingly added in the end 'Well Shahrukh is once again begging for my attention, so let me get back to him. He is smelling too much, I think he needs a bath. ?Heel boy, heel.?

Though the comments added by our superstar Aamir may be on friendly note but it's really difficult for Aamir fans to digest such nasty comments initiated from Aamir's side. People have known him because of his stupendous work till date. Aamir has always been looked upon in a true spirit, a true institution of inspiration. The kind of image he holds is way beyond such hue and cry which is generic with this industry. His career has been non controversial. It's a known fact that Aamir never requires any sort of cheap publicity to be in media focus. Than our million dollar question to Mr. Perfect Khan, as he is rightly called, what is he upto by getting into such issues. All his films and work have always been regarded and well received by public without landing into dim-witted publicity. He is counted as one of the strongest power pillars in Bollywood who can single handedly create wonders at box-office. He is considered as one man show.

He has always been appreciated for his experimental work, be it looks, the genre of movies he does, the people with which he works. But this time Aamir's new experiment of blogging is finding a hard place for its fans. Seriously the blog has spread a wave of discontent among his admirers.

Shah Rukh Khan's unforgettable ride!


Though the general impression is that Shah Rukh is a Khan who never loses his cool and remains unperturbed even in the most adverse circumstances, but even King Khan was taken for a ride (literally!), one which he cannot forget. Here are the details of that unforgettable ride!

Once Shah Rukh Khan was invited to a Louis Vuitton Exhibition. After that he was taken to the Louis Vuitton Kitchen for dinner. In order to get there one has to first get into an elevator which is called - Getting in touch with your senses lift. Why such a strange name? As per King Khan, the lift was pitch black and there was absolutely no music, no sound at all. As the lift started everyone automatically stopped talking and all that a person could hear was the sound of one's own breathing. It was literally like getting in touch with one's own senses. Says Shah Rukh Khan, it takes around 15 seconds to reach the third or the fourth floor, but it?s a ride that one can never forget!

Leading members of Bollywood’s First Wives Club appear to have had enough of being party circuit arm candy and running little businesses on the side.

Led by first wife Gauri Khan, they’re now striking out on their own. Khan is set to host First Wives Club, a television talk show and she has roped in big name wives and girlfriends to sit down with her for an on air conversation in front of a studio audience of married women.

Up until now Khan’s involvement in the industry in which her husband is the undisputed king, has been low profile. This first stint in front of the camera will take her off page three and into being an entertainer in her own right.

Also stepping from behind the shadow of her more famous husband is Twinkle Khanna, who also debuts on the small screen in a show called Makeover with Twinkle Khanna on a new channel called Colour.

Other news, that Suzanne Roshan is also toying with a big budget foreign television series, may be mere rumour as new mum Suzanne is right now wrapped up in her second go at motherhood.

Gauri’s entrance onto the small screen is, not surprisingly, funded by her husband’s production company, Red Chillies Entertainment. This show, which will also mark the company’s debut into television, will feature many of her and Shah Rukh’s friends.

“The opening episode will have Farah Khan and Kajol as the special guests. However, the studio audience will comprise married women from all walks of life,” says an executive producer from the production house.

Other friends who will feature on the show include Mehr Jessia Rampal (Arjun Rampal’s) and Maheep Kapoor (Sanjay Kapoor’s wife).

Twinkle Khanna meanwhile is pitched to exploit her eye for design and colour in a female-oriented show that will feature Twinkle sharing tips on makeovers that every woman can be part of. “Be it home, or style, the show will offer interesting and handy tips,” says a source from Colour.

Suzanne Roshan is also rumoured to be in talks with Discovery Travel and Living to host a show on homemaking.

Another star wife who looks set to carve up a piece of showbiz pie is Kiran Rao aka Mrs Aamir Khan. Kiran, after assisting chhote (that’s what she calls Aamir) in Taare Zameen Par, is now concentrating on her own film.

“It’s very different. She wants to shoot it in a very.. guerilla way… on the road with just five people,” said Aamir.

Shobhaa De once famously said that “a typical star wife should be blind, dumb and deaf.” She’ll have to come up with something new now.

ShahRukh Khan is playing Good Samaritan again. The actor has rushed to financially help a Kashmiri Pandit refugee family, the Rainas. The family met with a dangerous car accident while travelling from Jammu to Delhi.

The eldest member of the Raina family died on the spot, while her son Deepak Raina, daughter-in-law Neenu Raina and their two-year-old daughter were seriously injured. The family is admitted in Delhi's Apollo Hospital. Neenu is currently in coma, while Deepak is critical and the child has almost lost all senses in the lower half of her body.

Social activist cum film director Ashoke Pandit learnt about Raina's misery and immediately sent a text message to Shah Rukh. Pandit confirms and says, "When I came to know about the predicament of the Raina family, I immediately messaged Shah Rukh about the sorry financial status of this family. Raina is a middle class family, and the cost of their treatment is going to be enormous."

Pandit says, "Shah Rukh promptly called me up and offered to help in whatever way possible. Within two days, I received a cheque from Gauri Khan (Shah Rukh's wife) pledging their support to the family."

When asked about the amount that Shah Rukh contributed to help the Raina family recover, Pandit says that he would not like to disclose the amount. "Let's not talk about that. Shah Rukh has helped enough. His moral and financial support does not need numbers," Pandit says.

Incidentally, this is not the first time Shah Rukh has responded to Pandit's call. Pandit says, "A few months ago, I sent him a similar message to help me with the treatment of a 10-year-old suffering from cancer. The child's single mother could not afford the medical expenses. Even though Shah Rukh was not in India that time, he immediately volunteered to help. Unfortunately, the child passed away before the treatment. Later, Shah Rukh himself called me to ask about the child. When I told him that the child was no more, he was terribly disheartened that he could do nothing to save the child."

“This gesture by Shah Rukh is an inspiration for me to continue helping people in distress. I must add here that the NGOs who are objecting to Shah Rukh's smoking in public are wasting their time. Instead, they should appeal to the government to ban cigarettes and liquor," Pandit adds.

We sent a text message to Shah Rukh, but he chose to remain silent.

Kajol, Shah Rukh and Madhuri are set to pair up

Shah Rukh and Kajol are set to pair up on the big screen once again.

The two stars have already worked together in as many as films in the past –Dilwaley Dhulaniya Le Jayenge , Kabhie Khushie Kabhie Gham , Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hain and the yet to be released My name is Shah Rukh Khan. (not yet confirmed )

Now, the list gets longer with producer Yash Chopras film 'Dil Ne Yeh Kaha Hain Dilse'.

This is the first film Kajol has signed after U Me Aur Hum. Kajola says she was won over by the script of the film.

This is also the first time Kajol will work with Madhuri Dixit. The banner has previously made many hit films with Kajol and Madhuri .

To be directed by Aditya Chopra, Film will be triangle love story on a big scale. The film will be shot in Los Angeles from October 2008 onward.

Chopra had already finalized his favourite Kajol to play the male lead a few months back. A search was on for a suitable leading lady. Now, Who would be better than Kajol, Hence Kajol has been finalized for the part. Talks are on with Madhuri Dixit or else they have option of YRF favourite Rani Mukherjee.

A few days ago, when National Award winning actress Rituparna Sengupta approached Shah Rukh Khan to spend sometime with children suffering from thalassemia, he readily agreed and met the children in Kolkata.

Rituparna says, “He is extremely down to earth and in spite of having so many prior commitments for the Indian Premier League and his new TV game show, he came right on time and made every child feel special. He sang songs with them, spoke to them in broken Bengali and asked them to pray for his show and his team, Kolkata Knight Riders.”

SRK was especially touched by a Kolkata Knight Riders banner that was made by the children. “SRK was touched that the children knew a lot about him. He loves children and behaved like a child when he was with them,” adds Rituparna.

An onlooker present at the venue informs that when Rituparna expressed her desire to work with SRK, he immediately said, “If I work with you then Rani Mukerji will be upset… she is also a Bong!’

SRK, the Knight Rider





Shah Rukh Khan recently helped a Kashmiri Pandit refugee family who met with a serious car accident on their way from Jammu to Delhi. When filmmaker Ashok Pandit, another Kashmiri Pandit, came to know about the accident, he asked Shah Rukh for help and the actor was generous enough to lend his instant monetary support. Pandit himself claims that this is not the first time that SRK has come forward to help out somebody in genuine need. He has a long list of philanthropic deeds to his credit and though the superstar would not like to personally put light on his bigheartedness, we at Indiatimes Movies reveal some of the instances when Shah Rukh Khan didn’t think twice before shelling out bucks and time for a noble cause.

SRK makes wish come true



Every child has an ambition to be someone when he grows up. Unfortunately some children do not have the privilege. So for young ones suffering from life-threatening diseases, a dream coming true is as good as a miracle happening in their life. A small NGO called Make a Wish Foundation work out on the wishes of such children and make their wishes come true.

Shah Rukh Khan has been closely involved with this NGO and has consistently come to help them out whenever they have approached him. Many of these little ones wish to meet Shah Rukh Khan and the actor arranges for such kids to be driven to his house and ensures that he spends some quality time with them bringing in joy in their lifespan.

Fame check



The media is always hunting for an SRK quote. A Shah Rukh Khan interview sells more than anything. The actor who is quite aware of his popularity and market value used it to good effect a decade back.

During the release of his film Dil To Pagal Hai, Shah Rukh used to charge Rs 5000 per interview whenever a media channel interviewed him. But before you think he exploited his fame to his benefit, let’s clarify that he used the money strictly for charity purposes only. He used to take the money in the form of cheques in the favour of NGO.

Charity begins at the small screen



Shah Rukh Khan has been a popular name on the small screen even after becoming a superstar. With his stint on the Kaun Banega Crorepati show, Shah Rukh has been instrumental in getting a lot of prize money donated to social causes. He might have not directly donated from the show but got many of his friends like Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Priety Zinta and Rani Mukherjee as celebrity guests on the show to donate all their prize money for some noble cause.

Shah Rukh also was a part of the Kinetic Mega Show on television some years back where he donated a cheque of one lakh rupees to some charitable organization.

Moral policy



When Shah Rukh was working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, an unfortunate incident occurred on the sets. A person who had just come to visit the sets and see the shooting, met with a tragic accident when a large fan fell on him and he died on the spot.

Shah Rukh personally offered help to the deceased’s family and send them money in testing times. SRK was not responsible for the mishap in any way nor was he officially obligated to help. But out of his moral sense, the actor did come forward to do the needful.

Bonus time



Everyone who has been working with Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment right from the top-level managers to the watchmen have been treated with utmost love and respect. Shah Rukh might be taking additional revenues from banners for his star power but he distributes the share from profits to his company members as well.

It is believed that after the super success of his film Om Shanti Om, SRK distributed a good part of the profits amongst his company employees as a goodwill bonus.

Help in need is help indeed



Some years back a reporter from a popular media channel met with an accident just after he had interviewed Shah Rukh Khan. His condition was quite critical and the hospital authorities demanded big money for his treatment since the injuries were severe. There was little time and quick money was needed for his admission.

When SRK got to know about this, he immediately arranged for the money which reportedly amounted to as high as Rs one lakh per day for the treatment. Unfortunately the guy succumbed to his injuries in some days.
