what a coincidence you asked!
I actually almost had a car accident about 1 hour ago... completely surprised by a huge agricultural machine just after a bend, I only hardly managed to avoid a crash! and the farmer sitting on his tractor went all nuts and started shouting at me as if I was the one who parked his vehicle right behind a not-at-all-clear-to-overlook curve!!
I was so perplexed (and, of course, in such a state of shock!) that I let him tell me off for about 5 minutes without saying a single word. after that I went back to my car speechless and turned my back at this grumpy little garden gnome, what he again answered with a more than rude gesture...

but just remember: if the world didn't suck, we'd all fall off!

Hmmm... what do you call this? L'esprit de escalier? "The spirit of the stairs", this means that you come up with the most clever replies as soon as you shut the door and walk down the stairs... (now did anybody understand that...?)

...anyway...

Good reaction, however! I think it's most irritating if in a "conversation" people break up the communication situation by just turning around and leaving Much better than saying something nasty!

Tractors are weapons on wheels... much like taxis and trucks

it's not that I had wanted to be rude towards him (I wouln't mind that! no, just kidding...) and therefore kept my mouth shut but first he wouldn't let me speak and then my whole body shivered from the shock so that I wasn't even able to say anything...

in fact it is called l'ésprit d'éscalier. great expression with even greater truth in it, maybe an even more irritating variation of murphy's law...?!

How are you doing? I just talked to a friend of mine and said there is another "Fahrsicherheitstraining" of th Bayerische Verkehrswacht Bayern in Reichenhall on 8th of October , which is next weekend!
Yo just have to call and tell them that you want to take part!

I did this in May this year and this was fun I can tell you!
