I use the old MesaGL Plugin for Linux (Version 1.77.) My Card is an older Nvidia Card that runs too slow with the XGL2 Plugin.

The original 1.77 MesaGL Plugin works perfectly for Windowed mode, but it refuses to full screen. It cites an XIO access violation.

I run Mandriva Linux 2008.1. Since this plugin is not Open Source, and has no debug symbols, I cannot backtrace it.

I am asking for the Full screen bug to be fixed.

Works for me. And always worked. If you are using nv open source module (which is far from ideal) then the problem is likely in nv, not in plugin.

Is there a debug mode I don't know about?

Are you sure there's no new driver version for your card? Current is 180.22, but I don't know if it supports older cards. Also try upgrading X and kernel.

That driver is for Nvidia 6600 series cards and better. Older cards still need the 96xx driver.

That's bad, because you also can not upgrade X, since it will make your 96.xx driver unusable due to incompatibility. Another idea: if you have SELinux enabled, try to disable it or set to permissive mode. If it doesn't help, then I'm afraid you are stuck with windowed mode, or buy a new card.

There are definitely drivers from the 160 and 170 branch. that work on older cards.
