I get the following error message using my ATI Radeon 9700 pro card:

Varying wgx read in fragment shader, but not written in vertex shader.
Varying wgy read in fragment shader, but not written in vertex shader.
Link failed.

Well, actually it says "not written _to_ in vertex shader". Hm.
