Sniper

Don´t waste no tears over the lost years
just doing the duty in of freewill, in for the kill

I was young a blue-eyed kid
only eighteen years old
beliving in the familiar quotations
glory and fight for your country
be a real hero, show your braveness to the world
get in the line, get drafted
just like a rat, in a rattrap
We were sent on a secret mission
far behind enemy lines
a dead end trip with no way out
strange orders loaded with lies
an obscure target in the jungle
destroy all that you can see
but it started wrong, a big miscalculation
they were shooting from every tree

Sniper, I´m crawling over barbed wire

please help me back to civilization
I´m so tired of this war and
I don´t want to die here
