Greetings(Heya,new here xD),

I did opened a topic at epsxe about suggesting to make a plugin which should make it able to enable or disable certain layers in sprite games.

Like in Znes or in Visual Advance.

Later someone replied without leaving explanations:
''Use Peop Soft''

I knew that he meant the GPU plugin Peop Soft Driver.

But he didn't explained me how to do it.

Thus I made my way here to ask you,major Plugin Developers, to enlight me how to switch layers in Sprite games,so I can make screens on them without wasting time editing unnecessary data out by Paint Programms.

I don't know what did that guy mean. Perhaps he misunderstood you. Soft plugin 1.17 does not support such feature as far as I know.

there are no "layers" at all in a PSX gpu.

A typical PSX game simply erases the drawing area, and then it paints all sprites (or whatever) for this frame... from bottom to top.

So first the "background" will be painted, and then (for example) the player characters, and finally some "foreground" stuff will be drawn on top... but for the gpu plugin everything is the same... just sprites/textured rects drawn in whatever order.

so...that means you can't disable for example fog and rain or the Charas(hero,enemies,whatever) ?

Mhh...too bad then...I hoped that could happen...
is there any other way left?

I hope so...

So that means you can just disable the foreground?

So the fog and hero and stuff...

Well,I can live with that^^

Can you do it?

I mean,maybe not with GPU who see it as everything,but maybe with some other tool?
Or just develope a far new Plug-in who doesn't think it's the same?
