I have the libspuPeopsALSA.so.1.0.9 plugin, but if I put it in the plugin directory, the program crashes when I try to configure it, saying "cannot load /plugins/libspuPeopsALSA.so.1.0.9 no such file" It has a similar problem with the cdr plugin, though I do not need that to run the emulator. The emulator runs fine if I only copy the gpu plugin. If I copy the OSS spu plugin, it will run, but hang since I don't have OSS support. I don't understand why this is happening.

Sorry, the ALSA port of the Peops plugin was done by Linuzappz, and I've never cared much about the ALSA interface, so I cannot say much about it. But I've never got any user reports with ALSA spu plugin problems, so maybe it's something with your system? Some libraries missing, maybe?

Sorry to ask you about this alsa plugin again, but I've got a feeling that the problem is not alsa specific.

Code:
1:
2:

* Running ePSXe emulator version 1.6.0.
plugins/libspuPeopsALSA.so.1.0.9: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64

This happens when I try to configure epsxe.

Does epsxe only support 32 bit elf files?

32bit program can not load 64bit libraries. It is always so and not a fault of epsxe. Compile plugin for 32 bit.

I compiled epsxe and the libraries at the same time. I just assumed that they both were 64 bit, but maybe they aren't.

Is there any way to check if epsxe is compiled for 32 bit?

What do you mean you compiled ePSXe?? I thought it is closed source emu, where the hell did you get the source for it? Besides there's no 64 bit version of ePSXe - it requires major PSX-to-PC instructions translator code modification.

To compile plugin for 32 bit find complier options in the Makefile (something like CFLAGS= or CXXFLAGS=) and change -m64 flag to -m32 -march=i386 (or i686 may be better).

Oops! I'm on a gentoo system and just about everything installed gets compiled first. I need to research more and assume less. :^j

Thanks for the solution. I'll contact the gentoo maintainer and see if this can be included in the ebuild.

A bit late, but better than never. =P

Since ePSXe is closed source, I doubt that you have the source to compile it.

ePSXe is a 32bit application. Therefore, its plugins must also be 32bit.

I guess PEOPS is open source, and you probably compiled the ALSA modded one by linuzappz.

It would be just as The_Source said, you're just compiling it for x86-64 by default. Just add the command lines he mentioned to the makefile and that should do. Or just download a precompiled plugin and use it.

Remember that to compile x86-32 under x86-64 enviroment, you'll need the 32bit dev-libraries.
