Hello again. Sorry it's taken so long for me to respond. Both your Weighted Average shaders error. I have screen shots now of each. I have a GeForce 7600 GT, WinXP, DX9 & Latest Nvidia Drivers just to let you know if that is what is causing the trouble. Here are the errors:

Weighted Average 2xSaI Shader
I took down the image cause the problem is fixed! =)

Okay, this is weird. For some reason the forum isn't displaying my code correctly! There should be a closing parenthesis (")" without the quotes) before the semicolon on line 20 for the weighed average filter. And probably on line 45 for the WA2xSaI one.

Cool. It's working fine now. =) You're right, the WA2xSaI is a bit slow, but nice effect. I get ~51 FPS.

Cool, well done. At what screen resolution is that? (I test everything at 1600x1200 on my desktop, which has a 128MB 6600GT AGP, to maximise the effect of the shader on performance; it runs at 3.5fps there IIRC :P)

I tried it in 640x480 both Windowed & Full Screen, but I was quick on my assumption so I tested it more for ya on Xenogears. My card is AGP as well btw.

Widowed/Full 640x480
41-60 FPS while Frame Buffer Effects are active.
60 FPS While FB Effects were inactive.

Full 1280x1024
10-20 FPS while Frame Buffer Effects are active.
21-30 FPS While FB Effects were inactive.

Full 1600x1200
8-12 FPS while Frame Buffer Effects are active.
14-20 FPS While FB Effects were inactive.

Thanks for testing. I suppose a GF 8800 would probably be able to pull off full speed at the highest res, but that still limits us to this 'level'. Once next-gen cards come out and I get my hands on one I'll see if I can write some truly interesting shaders

np. I haven't seen an GF8800 in action yet. I'll keep an eye out for your new shaders when the time comes.

Don't worry, it's actually really easy. Just create a new text file using notepad and paste the code in there, then save the fragment file as gpuPeteOGL2.slf and the vertex file as gpuPeteOGL2.slv (considering the trouble the forum is having displaying the code, though, I might upload them somewhere anyway)

I'd add the fixed ones I have, but I don't want ppl to confuse who the credit should go to for your shader. lol I've tried making shaders myself & they turn out no way near what I was attempting. =P

DuncanMcCloud if you go to section 7 of the thread it will explain how to fix his WA2xSaI shader.
