The first algorithm is about 10% faster, but doesent look regular, flickering appears also. | ||||

So you're saying the second looks fine, and the first messes up? Since the two are identical in everything but structure, that's probably some sort of driver bug. At your courtesy, I'd also be interested in knowing the speed of the second version if you change conditionals 2, 3 and 4 from 'if(...' to 'else if(...'. On my older nvidia cars, this slows them down significantly, but we've already shown they don't branch well. Since 2, 3, and 4 should only be checked if the previous don't apply, it -should- in fact make it faster. | ||||
